A martial arts instructor teaches others the techniques and movements of a specific martial art.  At Clear Lake Martial Arts we focus on Wado Ryu Karate and fall under the Kenwayoshin Ryu Renmei.  The Renmei encompasses 85% of most martial arts therefore all systems are welcome to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS
At Clear Lake Martial Arts the qualifications for a martial arts instructor vary depending on the discipline you were taught. You will have an apprenticeship period and must hold a first degree black belt with a minimum of 4 years of martial arts experience.  Regardless of your qualifications, you will need to be trained by the Chief Instructor before securing a permanent position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a martial arts instructor, you are responsible for planning class content and structure, performing warm ups and demonstrating the techniques of the art of our system. These might include sparring, throws, joint locks, chokes and kata. Martial arts theory and history can be weaved in throughout the class to give students a greater sense of what they are doing. You are also responsible for handing out discipline when necessary, first aid and possibly some marketing activities for your class.

SKILLS
You must possess all of the skills that you are attempting to teach to others. Perfecting each movement and technique will give your teaching credibility and help your students learn faster. You must also possess patience, communication skills and be organized.
